Set up in 2009, Salient Books continue to be what can best be described as a very small, family-run “micro-publisher”.
Originally established to allow Wayne Osborne to publish his own works on The Great War (after he’d been given the run around by big, mainstream publishers – who are well known for such behaviour), we have since published titles by other “friends and family”.
Our books are not often found in bookshops or in on-line stores but can be purchased direct from us. You can pay via PayPal, using either a credit/debit card or a PayPal account.
Due to increases in printing and postage charges (blame the rising costs of raw materials), all of our prices have changed as from 1st November 2021.
This is the first increase in book prices since we set up 12 years ago. Although we have previously been able to absorb changes in printing and postage/packaging costs, unfortunately, we are no longer able to do this.
The book industry, like all physical goods industries, is experiencing Covid's negative logistic impacts due in large part to labour and supply shortages (including of paper) and transportation issues. Whilst we will do our best to make sure orders are despatched quickly, there may be delays which are out of our control.
As we do not always keep copies of our books in stock, orders are sometimes despatched direct from our Printers. To guarantee Christmas delivery we will need to receive your order before 17th November 2021 to tie in with their printing deadline. We will do our best with any orders received after this date, but can't make any promises!
